Welcome to We-Are-Inanimate! Still life doesn't have to be lifeless. deviantArt is full of photographs of inanimate objects that tell stories and we're here to collect them. Think you don't have anything to share? Just look around! Beauty can be found everywhere and everything has a story to tell. Rules You may submit up to four deviations a week. The subject must be an inanimate object. If you are unclear on what that means, see this news article. Dead animals/insects/people are not allowed. Things such as skulls and bones will be looked at on a case by case basis. Things such as flowers and leaves must no longer be on the plant from which they came. This means cut flowers in a vase are allowed, but flowers growing in a field are not. The photo must show a basic level of competence. This means nothing overly grainy, blurry, too dark, etc. Please do not submit more than one photo from a shoot at a time. If you chose to use the deviantArt watermark, please be aware that if it makes your image too hard to see, it will be declined. If you have a question about why your deviation was declined, either reply to the notification you receive or note us with a link to the deviation on question. Please do not ask on the main page. While we do encourage users to submit things to favorites, do not submit your own things to favorites. We Will Not Accept Anything From The Following Photography Categories Animals, Plants & Nature People & Portraits Macro > Human Photojournalism > People Disclaimer! It will be up to the discretion of the moderation team as to what is considered fitting for the group. You want to submit a picture of a car? If the car is very clearly the focus of the picture and there aren't a bunch of people around then it will most likely be approved. If the picture is full of people milling about, and the focus isn't all that clear, it probably won't. If your picture is declined you have every right to respond to the notification or note us and ask why. Don't expect us to reconsider just because you're contacting us, but don't rule it out either. |
